Today, an average of 63% of Canadians diagnosed with cancer will survive at least 5 years after their diagnosis. However, a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer only has an 8% survival rate. This gift will fund critical research to shed light on how to detect hard-to-treat cancers, like pancreatic, brain, lung, ovarian and esophageal earlier and treat them more effectively. For those affected by these or other hard-to-treat cancers, the need to improve treatments and increase survival rates has never been greater.
