Reimagining support during COVID-19

It’s been just over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic entered our lives and changed everything. But thanks to your gift of Support for Canadians during COVID-19, we were able to reimagine many of our programs and services to best mitigate the risks of COVID-19 for people living with cancer:

24-7 Support: Since the pandemic began: 8.9 million people found vital information about cancer on cancer.ca; more than 124,000 people visited our supportive online community at CancerConnection.ca and 20,000+ people reached out to our Cancer Information Helpline via phone, email, text and chat.

Revamped services: We put personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures in our lodges for those who must travel for treatment. And our Camp Goodtimes, a camp for children with cancer and their families, went virtual last summer to help everyone make memories at home.

New programs: Your generosity helped us create new avenues to deliver support, such as a series of webinars on living with cancer during COVID-19 (available on cancer.ca). More than 3,000 people have tuned in to get information about dealing with cancer during the pandemic.

Thank you for helping people affected by cancer when help was needed the most. Together, we are a force-for-life in the face of cancer.
